Well they say that the cream always rises to the top. This was in full evidence on Saturday afternoon in Oxford when the Carthusian (Sam Carne) could only manage a couple of “2 for 10 quid” bottles of warm Cava to celebrate with his team mates whereas the Local Comprehensive Lad (yours truly) supplied a couple of bottles of nicely chilled Lanson. That’s private education for you……..
A full house elsewhere in the club with the 2’s securing their league place next season with a magnificent 4-4 draw, the 3’s goal fest continuing (did I hear Eds got 5?) and a good win for the Ladies. From the website photos it looks like the girls enjoyed themselves as much as the 1’s did. Well done all.
Sam says that tickets are selling fast for the End of Season Dinner. Now we know what Sam is to Maths from the quiz night (remember how many British Prime Ministers there were in the 1970’s?) but even so I don’t doubt that places are filling up. Get in there quick and see you on the 26th April.
Finally, I know the players will get all the applause but let’s raise a cheer to David “Mr Stopwatch” Knapp for delivering on his promise of back to back promotions… More bare chested carnage at the dinner perhaps?
