While our season is on pause, each Saturday we’ll introduce you to one of our Club players. This week, meet an amazing member of our Ladies 5 XI team, Jeanette Sunderland.
Name: Jeanette Sunderland
Team / Position: Martlets / L5s / Forward
As a Radiographer, how has life changed for you?
I’m a diagnostic Radiographer working at St George’s Hospital. We are the people that do the X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, Nuclear Medicine scans and Ultrasounds that are needed for diagnosis. Obviously this has been a year like no other especially with ventilated patients needing regular chest X-rays. Radiology has been a busy place. I am incredibly proud of all my colleagues who have worked relentlessly through the pandemic.
What helps you to stay positive?
I stay positive knowing the majority of our COVID patients will get to go home to their families thanks to the fantastic doctors and nurses we have. So many vaccines are now coming through and Spring is on it’s way. Hopefully we can get back to the pitch in the coming weeks??
I am missing hockey so much! I’m loving Lauren’s bootcamps (which are a killer) but it’s so good to see everyone on zoom.
Finally, when we can get back to the club, is it all about JJ’s fajitas or burgers?
Obviously it’s JJ’s burger and a post match pint of beer with the girls.
