Following the latest Government guidance, we expect to return to hockey from Saturday 5th December. We will update you when we receive more details from England Hockey and league governing bodies. For details on how your season will be played out in full, you will either be updated by your Captain or please take a look at the Junior section for an update. Should the situation change, we will review and keep you updated.
Subs update 2020/2021
I’m sure many of you are wondering what will happen to subs with the break from hockey so we’d like to update you.
Unlike many clubs we’ve been lucky enough to have access to our pitch since June with many players taking full advantage of this. It also allowed many of us to start pre-season from early August and the league to commence as planned in late September.
For the games we’re currently missing, these are being rescheduled in line with each of the league’s governing body requirements. This means that the season will still be played out in full and we expect to return back to hockey on Saturday 5th December. It also means that we incur the same costs as a ’normal’ season which is where your subs go – to pay for coaching, pitch hire and equipment, opposition teas and league fees.
Juniors update
For our Juniors section, we can’t wait to see you back on the pitch. As we work towards a return on Sunday 6th December, we have plans in place to make up the missed sessions by adding new weeks and this would apply to all age groups, including the younger players not involved in league competitions. Please take a look at the Juniors section for more details.
Hardship Fund
We’d like to make sure that no one gives up sport because they can’t afford membership fees or kit costs. If you’re facing financial struggles, we have a Hardship Fund that uses monies raised through the 100 Club. Find out more.
We look forward to seeing you all soon. Stay safe.
